I’ve re-thought this post about a zillion times since this morning! lol. I think its because there are so many other facets, side stories, and general “interestingness” one can talk about when it comes to thrifting. But alas, I had to narrow it down because it would’ve ended up being the Post of the Century. hehe!
The best part of thrifting, in my opinion is not only the hunting for treasures, but finding something truly fun and exciting that is just nickels and dimes! Something that makes you happy, even if it seems silly to everyone else. I have lots of little collections of quite inexpensive finds I am always on the lookout for…
My favorite collection is vintage laces; finding a bag of assorted laces is one of my favorite surprises! Usually they’re mixed up with some truly hideous, synthetic lace. But for a few dollars–who cares?! hehe!
I love using it about my space too; pinning it to my bulletin board, or displaying a fetching collar on an old hanger!
I have many other collections, of course (I tend to be a bit of a packrat–lol!), but I think this is the collection I’m always hunting down new additions to add to while I thrift. Do you have any collections that you find yourself amassing when you thrift?
This ends the week of Nifty Thrifty posts–I sure had fun! I think the best part was hearing about your thrifting stories, adventures and amazing finds! Thank you for sharing this week of thrift love with me!

How lovely! Lace is wonderful, I read an article somewhere, and now I’m realizing it might have been via this blog
, about sewing old pieces of lace and doilies and things onto favorite clothing.
I collect old postcards, but only if they’re already written on. People write the weirdest things on postcards, and I especially like when I find ones from a particular family that tell a little weird story. I have one that is a boring postcard, but it has a Edgar Allen Poe stamp, so I had to get it

The vintage lace is so beautiful. It’s no wonder you collect it. I really enjoyed reading all of your thrifty finds this past week. You should do it again sometime!

just read through your thrifty finds, they are wonderful! i love the way you’ve hung your lace from hangers rather than putting something so pretty in a box… the wren (?) necklace is so funky, and your vintage clothing is lovely! i have a box full of dollar vintage dresses that i’ve been meaning to repurpose… but i should probably finish my burdastyle sabrina first!

Oooh! All that lace is lovely! It would be wonderful to have jars and jars of it…like intricately woven spiderwebs or something. Beautiful!
I’m such a sucker for antique photographs (course, who isn’t?). I love to just hang them helter-skelter on a wall using bulldog clips. Instant wall art!

Oh Casey! You have inspired me to be on the lookout for more lace! You have found some real treasures!! If only we could go on a little thrifting adventure together, wouldn’t that be fun?!

Oh! Wherever have I been!! I’ve missed so much over here in the most elegant spot on the Internets!
Your laces are so lovely!
My weakness is parasols! I have two that I recovered, and two more that I have not….that makes four….and I need more!!
I also long to start collecting fichus!
Happy Monday!

It is a delight to see your thrifty finds each week, I love the lace! I have had to curb my thrift shopping, I am running out of space so I’ll need to do some recycling first!
